Acrisure Arena will celebrate its official grand opening on January 18 with the legendary band Eagles. At Acrisure Arena’s official groundbreaking in June 2021, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh announced the band would be the first to formally open the anticipated arena. For Eagles January 18 Acrisure Arena show date, the band’s concert will feature Hotel California, performed live in its entirety from start to finish, accompanied by an orchestra and choir. After a short intermission, the band will perform a full set of their greatest hits.
“Acrisure Arena’s opening line-up of artists illustrates the caliber of performers Coachella Valley can now expect to see on a regular basis,” said Oak View Group co-founder Irving Azoff. “As a resident of the community, I know having an 11,000-seat arena in the desert is a game-changer for the region, and Acrisure Arena will be an important stop for the biggest artists and tours.”
In today’s faddish, fractured, rock landscape, Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill, retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons. As the best-selling American band of the ’70s, and one of the top-selling acts of all time, Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six No. 1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They have won six GRAMMY® Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016. Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA.
Coming to Acrisure Arena on December 15, The Doobie Brothers have run the gamut from mainstream rock to blue-eyed soul. The Doobie Brother’s tour dates, which include their 2017 Summer Tour, 2015 Southbound Tour, and stretch back all the way to their 1983 Farewell Tour, have taken them across North America and seen them unite with powerhouse rock performers like Chicago, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ted Nugent and more. Throughout their many incarnations, The Doobie Brothers have been known for their eclectic rock sound, fused with elements of country, R&B, and folk music, along with their impressive vocal harmonization. The latter gained the group entry into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame in 2004, while the former has seen the band sell some 40 million albums over their five-plus decades in existence. In concert, The Doobie Brothers thrill with their combination of electrifying guitar work, tight group vocals, and the occasional saxophone solo as well. The Doobie Brothers have won two Grammy Awards, both in 1979, for their songs “Minute By Minute” (Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals) and “What A Fool Believes” (Record of the Year). They were also nominated for Album Of The Year for Minute By Minute in 1979, along with Best Pop Instrumental Performance for “South Bay Strut” in 1980.
Performing on December 16, Latin music sensations Grupo Firme got their start in 2014, and since then they’ve built a strong following that adores their penchant for passing a bottle and singing their hearts out. It was their live cover songs that initially helped Grupo Firme find their audience. Recorded cheaply, on the fly and “en la peda” (a little drunk), these videos showcased the band’s genuine love for the music they play — and gave fans an accurate taste of what it would be like to see them live. That’s made Grupo Firme a popular touring group in Mexico, the U.S., and even Colombia.
The arena’s first New Year’s Eve concert, GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum powerhouse Maroon 5 is one of pop music’s most enduring artists and the 21st century’s biggest acts. To date, the universally renowned Los Angeles band has achieved multiple GRAMMY® Awards and become the most successful duo or group on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this century; with 32 records charted and 15 Top 10 singles. Maroon 5 holds a Top 40 record for the most No. 1 hits among pop duos or groups with 11 entries and has earned 22 Top 10 entries on the chart. They are the only band to achieve these accolades.
Jimmy Buffett is one of the most prolific touring artists in the industry. He’s been producing a tour almost every year since 1976. Beginning as a busker and bar performer in the 60s, Buffett gained notoriety for his unique beach bum persona. After a few years of living in Nashville and New Orleans, Buffett moved to Key West, Florida, and started to focus on his music career. His big break came when he released his album, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes in 1977, which featured the breakout anthem “Margaritaville.” This song and sound profile would go on to define the rest of his career, and even serve as the inspiration for the name of his restaurant chain, Margaritaville. The popular Gulf and Western singer-songwriter continues to tour the world with his unique island sound. For the past fifty years, this CMA Award winner has spent decades perfecting his tropical country sound. With the help of the Coral Reefer Band, Buffett has become one of the most beloved country artists in history. Get your Jimmy Buffett tickets soon to catch this incredible performer as he tours the world playing “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Son Of Son Of A Sailor” and “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere,” among other chart-topping hits.
