After a spectacular 2022 that included a second record-breaking “Una Historia Cantada” reunion tour with Los Bukis and and a successful sold-out world tour, the winner of multiple international awards, and his recent recognition as Person of the Year 2022 by the Latin Recording Academy, Marco Antonio Solís, is coming back on tour across the globe.
The news of the upcoming tour was announced by “El Buki” himself from the deck of a gorgeous yacht anchored in Miami, Florida, immediately provoking buzzing anticipation for what the iconic mexican artist has in store for his fans across North America this year. Without a doubt, El Buki World Tour 2023 promises to be an extraordinary experience for all, offering spectators an enchanting, magical & romantic night of music they won’t forget.
Marco Antonio Solís musical career began in 1970 when he formed the group “Los Hermanitos Solís” with his cousin Joel Solís. This would become what we know today as “Los Bukis”. The successes of this legendary group reached the first places of popularity in several countries, receiving 15 Gold Records, 10 Platinum Records and a Diamond Record as a sign of recognition and the enormous affection of their audience. During these years, the group was awarded a significant number of Billboard Awards and repeated Grammy Award nominations.
After two decades with “Los Bukis”, in 1995, Solís began a new chapter in his career and music: he released his first solo album. “En pleno vuelo” was presented to the public on July 24, 1996 and got a Gold Record and a Platinum Record. In less than a week, the record production sold more than half a million units, thus occupying the main places on the Billboard charts in the US.
Recognized as “The poet of the century”, in 2017, Marco Antonio Solís participated in the Spanish version of the Oscar-winning film “Coco” (Disney/Pixar), lending his voice to the character of Ernesto de la Cruz. In October 2019, El Buki debuted on the iconic stage of the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, where it had a historic sold out gathering more than 17,000 spectators that turned this show into one of the most special and emotional nights of this tour that he celebrated with his three daughters: Alison, Beatriz and Marla Solís. In the present, the acclaimed singer-songwriter continues to make his mark and his legacy day-by-day.
